Thank you for visiting IMA’s Calumet Chapter’s website. We hope that you find useful information on the website. But more importantly, we hope that you decide to join us for one or more of our chapter meetings for this, our 71st year. (Our year runs from September through May.)
As I reflect back at the last few years of chapter meetings, I’m impressed again by the quality of speakers that our chapter has provided. We’ve had FBI special agents, a Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (and former member of Fed Chair Janet Yellen’s inner circle), an investment newsletter publisher, and a professor from an outstanding Illinois university accounting program – to name a few.
For this year’s schedule, we’re making an even greater effort to make the meetings convenient to attend. We’re standardizing our meeting places to one restaurant for Indiana meetings and one restaurant for Illinois meetings. We’re having meetings on various nights of the week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) so that those of you who have standing conflicts with certain nights of the week will be able to at least attend a few of the meetings. We’re also making a concerted effort to make the programs useful for working accountants, controllers, and CFOs – and those who aspire to be so. For example, topics for this year’s meetings include Excel Tips and Best Practices for Controllers.
Again, we invite and encourage you to join us for one of our meetings. Membership in the IMA is not necessary for you to attend a meeting and give us a try. Please contact me or another member of our board if you have any questions
